Watson students earn limo lunch

Neighbors | Submitted.A group of Watson students stood outside their school on Jan. 27 and exclaimed "limo!" before jumping in the vehicle and heading to Golden Corral. The students earned their Limo Lunch by selling cookie dough for a Watson PTA fundraiser.

Fundraising by Watson students to support the school’s PTA recently earned a lucky group a sweet treat.
Fab Limousines made two pit stops at the school on Jan. 27 to pick up the hard-working students who sold 15 or more tubs of cookie dough through Great American Fundraising. The students were taken to Golden Corral buffet restaurant in Boardman.
Jibri Carter was so excited about his trip in the limo that he wore a special outfit for the outing — slacks with a tie and vest.
“I’m going somewhere fancy and I’m riding in a limo. I told my mom that I totally had to wear a suit today,” Carter explained.
Once the students arrived at the restaurant, they were provided drinks and were allowed to eat whatever food they wanted.
Watson PTA representative Jody West said the event was a heartfelt thank-you to the students for their fundraising. “The sale of cookie dough helps raise funds for budgeted programs that absolutely provides for a positive student experience. The funds provide for recognition ceremonies, room parties, assemblies, supplies, the art and science Fair, our Reflections Art contest, the Silly Olympics and more. The kids definitely deserve their Limo Lunch,” West said.
