Fundraising continues for Springfield police dog

NEW SPRINGFIELD

Springfield Township Police Chief Matthew Mohn said fundraising is going well for the township's anticipated K-9 unit.

Trustees approved spending $12,750 of the proceeds to purchase a police dog and send officer Glenn Corey to Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville to train as the dog’s handler.

More fundraisers are planne as soon as the weather breaks, Mohn said. Donations are welcome and should be sent to the police department, he added.
