Occupy Pittsburgh protesters facing noon deadline
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Occupy Pittsburgh protesters are up against the clock as many tear down their tents and prepared to leave private property owned by Bank of New York Mellon Corp. downtown.
A court order issued last week gives the protesters until noon today to leave the Mellon Green. And while many protesters have been packing up over the weekend, others suggested they may stay and seek to be forcibly removed in a final act of civil disobedience.
Overnight, some protesters also erected what they call “the ark” from a pile of wooden shipping palates that many had used to keep their tents off the ground.
The purpose of the makeshift sculpture isn’t clear, but the only animals seen entering or leaving the are two-by-two have been rats, apparently drawn to the normally pristine parklet by food and waste.

Enslavement of the people by the bourgeois will not be tolerated. The occupations will continue until the people are victorious. In Pittsburgh they will regroup to occupy another day.
Enlighten us as to how the middle class (bourgeois) is enslaving the people?!!
I'm glad they are finally throwing these people out. They have ruined a nice piece of property. They are doing nothing to help their cause except to bother others with their problems. As most people down here in Pgh have said they must not being hurting if they can live in tents while they are getting some sort of assistance money from the Gov''t.
Y-Lion,
Be productive and quit complaining about what you don't have or what others have. Only YOU is holding YOU back!!!
OWS is a non-credible joke. I have yet to see an unhealthy, poorly dressed, uneducated member of this group. Try living a day without being miserable! You just might like it.
We need to get some donations of dog carriers so the occupiers can take their rats with them to the next town. It is the right thing to do people!
