South Side man pistol whipped, robbed

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are trying to determine who pistol whipped a 44-year-old city man in his South Side home then stole the money he received from a tax refund.

According to police, the man was in his Firnley Avenue home at about 2 a.m. Monday when two men with their faces covered broke into the house and began pistol whipping the man and demanding money.

The man handed over $500 he had just received from a tax refund and the two men ran off.
