Warren man charged with robbery in Niles

NILES — City police charged Antuan D. Mack, 32, of 2310 South Feederle Drive Southeast in Warren with petty theft Sunday after women identified him as the person who broke into their car and took cash, makeup, cigarettes, a bottle of vodka and other items.

The women called police at 2:31 a.m. to the Royal Mall Apartments on state Route 46. The victims told police the suspect, a black male wearing a large tan jacket, ran north on Route 46 and toward Moreland Street.

Police found Mack near a fast-food restaurant on U.S. Route 422 at Gypsy. He had a bottle of vodka, cash, cigarettes and was wearing a large tan coat. The victims identified Mack as the man who broke into the car, police said.

Mack was released to his brother after police wrote him a summons to appear in court. Police later found a change purse and makeup on Moreland Street that belonged to the victims.
