Messiah choir


The Messiah Choir will perform at 7 p.m. today in Main Street Theater.

A free-will offering will be donated to Crown Theater Productions and its ministry.

The expenses of the holiday concert are underwritten by the Columbiana Community Foundation.

Doors open one hour before the show.

The event is free and open to the public.

Nativity planned


Trinity Lutheran Church, 56 N. Chesnut St., will present a live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

This is the 42nd year for the event.

Concert set

The Parker Brothers and Lacey will present a concert at 11 a.m. Sunday at God’s Haven of Rest, 51966 state Route 14.

Travis Parker will perform at 6 p.m.

Live Nativity


New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., will present a live Nativity with animals from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Refreshments will be available inside church.

A Christmas candlelight and carol service will follow at 8 p.m.

Christmas play


Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, will present the play “Bethlehem’s Christmas” at 7 p.m. Monday, Christmas Eve.

Christmas carol music will be at 6:30.

Admission is free.

Good-will offerings will be accepted.

First Friday Club


First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 3 at Antone’s Banquet Centre on Market Street in Boardman.

Speaker will be Sister Lisa Marie Belz of Ursuline College in Cleveland. Her topic will be “St. Paul and the Role of Women in the Early Church.”

The cost is $15.

Gospel jubilee

Jerry Garcia, national southern Gospel artist, will be the headliner for the New Year’s Eve Victory Gospel Jubilee Dec. 31 at the North Lima Business Complex Auditorium, 11836 South Ave.

Garcia, who has been in the music ministry since he sang his first song in church as a young boy, performs hundreds of concerts annually.

Other groups participating in the 7 p.m. concert will be the Stillwater Trio and Golden Street Singers.
