Canfield choirs present winter concert

Published: Fri, December 21, 2012 @ 12:00 a.m.

The Canfield High School Choral department performed its annual winter concert Dec. 6, complete with hot chocolate, gift giving, singing and family.

Three choirs performed at the event, including the Concert Choir, Chamber Ensemble and the One Octave Higher Ensemble. Each group performed separately and then as a mass choir. This year’s mass choir production included something different. The choir sang a work of carols written by composer Benjamin Britten titled “The Ceremony of Carols.” The pieces were accompanied by harpist Debra Holzworth.

As usual, the concert closed with the invitation to Canfield alumni to join us in singing the holiday classic “Silent Night.”
