Harding’s Daniels switches to Iowa

Staff report

WARREN

Warren Harding senior running back LeShun Daniels has switched his verbal commitment from Boston College to Iowa, according to ScoutingOhio.com.

Daniels (6-0, 217) committed to BC last summer but wavered in his commitment after the Eagles fired head coach Frank Spaziani earlier this month following a 2-10 campaign.

Daniels, who also had offers from Bowling Green and Akron, was a first-team all-Ohioan for Warren Harding (9-2), which won the Lake Erie League and earned a playoff berth, losing to Mentor in the first round.

Daniels is one of two Division I recruits for the Raiders. Wide receiver Jalyn Powell is headed to Michigan State.

Other Mahoning Valley seniors headed to FBS schools include Fitch DT Billy Price (Ohio State), Howland RB De’Veon Smith (Michigan), Mooney LB Courtney Love (Nebraska) and Mooney DB Marcus McWilson (Nebraska).

National signing day is Feb. 6.
