YOUNGSTOWN
Home sales across the Mahoning Valley once again were strong during November, according to figures released by the Youngstown-Columbiana Association of Realtors on Wednesday.
In Mahoning County, 175 homes were sold last month, up from 160 sold last year at the same time. The median sale price was $69,000, up 4 percent from $66,250 in November 2011.
Trumbull County saw gains as well, with 128 homes sold last month, compared with 114 in November 2011.
Perhaps the best sign of a recovering housing market in the Valley was the 21 percent increase in median sale price, which went from $60,000 in November 2011, to $72,650 last month.
In Columbiana County, 58 homes were sold at a median sale price of $85,000, compared with the 48 sold last year at a median sale price of $73,500. November saw a 15 percent increase in sale price.
Across the country, the housing market generally appears to be improving. National data for November have not yet been released.
