Bird count Sunday

Trumbull County’s Christmas bird count will be Sunday. Anyone living within the circle that includes Cortland, Mecca, Greene, West Farmington, Southington, Champion, Bristoville and North Bloomfield can count birds that come to their feeders. They also can participate by helping on a particular territory.

The Christmas bird count dates to 1900, and Trumbull County’s count dates to 1976. The results of past counts are on the national Audubon website. The count shows migration and wintering patterns.
