Council President Brown to run for Youngstown mayor

YOUNGSTOWN

City Council President Jamael Tito Brown will run for mayor.

Brown’s campaign sent emails today saying he will have a news conference Thursday at the V2 Wine Bar Trattoria on West Federal Street to “formally launch his 2013 campaign for mayor.”

Outgoing Mahoning County Commissioner John McNally IV and Matthew Smith have filed nominating petitions for the Democratic primary.

Also, Mayor Charles Sammarone said Friday that he is “reconsidering” his previously stated position that he was “99 percent” sure he wouldn’t run for the seat next year.

Tito can't beat Chuck so he should shelve these plans until 2016. McNally should too.
