The Five

Published: Sun, December 9, 2012 @ 12:00 a.m.

Today’s entertainment picks:

v Concert of Giving, 4 p.m.: The Stambaugh Chorus and the Youngstown Area Community Concert Band team up for this concert at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.

v “In the Spirit of Christmas,” 2 p.m.: Victorian Players Theater, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown; 330-746-5455.

v Winter Nights Walk, 5 to 7 p.m.: Twinkling lights and luminaria will light up Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown; 330-740-7116.

v “A Christmas Carol,” 2 p.m.: Crown Theater Productions presents the classic tale at Main Street Theater, 5 N. Main St., Columbiana; 330-482-9915.

v “A Seussified Christmas Carol,” 2:30 p.m.: This promises to be an amusing take on a familiar tale. At Penn State Shenango campus theater, 145 Shenango Ave., Sharon, Pa.; 724-983-2836.

“The Mistle-Tones” (8 p.m., ABC Family): “The Mistle-Tones” sounds like yet another gooey, made-for-TV holiday movie. It’s pegged to a couple of crooning frenemies (Tia Mowry and Tori Spelling) who head up rival ensembles destined for a Christmas Eve sing-off.

“The Amazing Race” (8 p.m., CBS): All that panting and gasping you hear is coming from the final four teams in “The Amazing Race.” They’ll cross the finish line in New York tonight and promptly search out a good masseuse.

“American Idol” (9 p.m., Lifetime): Call off the search party. “American Idol” finalists (and real-life couple) Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo have been located. They make cameo appearances as themselves in the new film “All About Christmas Eve.”
