Register for spring semester at EGCC
Registration for the spring semester is open at Eastern Gateway Community College. The semester begins Jan. 14.
Residents are reminded of the college’s special offer of the Half-Off Tuition Grant for new students taking a minimum of six credit hours at the Valley Center in downtown Youngstown.
New students must apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and use awarded financial aid before the Half-Off Grant will be applied. The grant will cover half of the tuition charges for new students during the spring 2013 semester only.
Provisions of the tuition-only grant include being a high school graduate or GED recipient, being a new student to Eastern Gateway (never taken classes at the college), taking a minimum of six credit hours at the Valley Center. Additional hours may be taken at the Valley Center, online or at another college delivery location and filing for FAFSA and using available aid before the Half-Off Grant applies.
If financial aid covers all tuition costs, the Half-Off Grant does not apply.

New students will meet with an admissions recruiter to discuss transfer opportunities and/or career-preparation programs in business, engineering and information technologies, health and public services. They will take free placement testing to make sure they are placed in the correct level of classes. New students should begin the application process for financial aid as soon as possible at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
