US Supreme Court will hear gay marriage cases

Published: Fri, December 7, 2012 @ 3:29 p.m.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court will take up California's ban on same-sex marriage, a case that could give the justices the chance to rule on whether gay Americans have the same constitutional right to marry as heterosexuals.

The justices said Monday they will review a federal appeals court ruling that struck down the state's gay-marriage ban, though on narrow grounds. The San Francisco-based appeals court said the state could not take away the same-sex marriage right that had been granted by California's Supreme Court.

The court also will decide whether Congress can deprive legally married gay couples of federal benefits otherwise available to married people. A provision of the federal Defense of Marriage Act limits a range of health and pension benefits, as well as favorable tax treatment, to heterosexual couples.

The Supreme Being, who created us male and female to procreate, has already ruled on the matter: No to gay marriage and abuse of children; Yes to happy marriage and children raised by both of their procreating loving parents.

Attis, You are a bigot pure and simple. So the people that are born unable to procreate are okay, but because gays can't we are not?? And guess what, God realized he was wrong and sent his Son to fix the situation and said the new commandment was to love one another, that the old testament does not apply with his Sons new law.

By the way, you do know that most child abuse is perpetrated by heterosexuals right?? trying to link gays to that shows more ingnorance. And gays can be just as happy in marriage and raise children by two loving parents as well as any heterosexual couple.

The best quote I know of to help you wrap your head around what gay is, is that any man can have sex with another man, and any women can have sex with another woman, but only gay people have the innate senses to love a man or woman of the same gender.

What happened to the idea that "All men are created equal?" The Supreme Court must rule in favor of gay marriage.

I just want the Supreme court to side with the militant gay left as soon as possible. I'm tired of the whole issue being shoved down our throats. everytime you turn on the tv the left is polluting our children's minds and making the gay thing look cool. Hopefully they get all the rights in the world just so I dont have to hear about it anymore.

ytown,

I am sorry that you are a homosexual. But that doesn't mean that you have the right to have society recognize a relationship you may have as a marriage - when it is with someone of the same sex.

What's to stop a niece and an aunt, a mother and a daughter, or three people from declaring their relationships as marriages?

If marriage is a purely humanly defined institution, what's to stop someone from marrying his dog - if it were "made legal"? I notice militant homosexuals never mention bestiality. What about people who have sex with animals - don't they have the right to marry their "lovers" too?

Your attack of Attis shows that you are the true bigot. I am tired of you militant homosexuals attacking a God-created institution.

It reminds me of the militancy of atheists. Anything relating to God is now banished, criticised, or held up to ridicule.

blah,

Homosexuality USED to be illegal too.

The marrying an animal argument is not far-fetched. It's another illogical modification of God's law.

In this age of enlightenment there is nothing off limits except for the criticism of those in the outer limits.
