Q. When did you start playing your instrument?
A. Both Latsko and Shaffer began playing their instruments in the fifth grade.
Q. Best memory of being in band/marching band?
A. Latsko: Being a part of the drum line family, attending band camp, and having water balloon fights (PSHS band versus Mr. Nick Olesko, band director). I also enjoyed going to Massillon Band Nights, Canfield Band Nights and the Canfield Drum-Off we have every year at the Canfield football game (we wonÔÅä). Also, the bus rides with my friends to all the away games and band nights. I also enjoyed the BCS National championship game in New Orleans and going to Cedar Point with the band each year.
Shaffer: Going to BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans and performing at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. I also enjoyed going to Disney World with the band, having fun at Cedar Point, going to Canfield Band Nights and Massillon Band Nights, and competing at District contests.
Q. Why is music important to you?
A. Latsko: Music is a good way to express yourself and it brings all the band nerds together.
Shaffer: You get to spend time and meet people you would have never met if you were not part of the band. You meet some pretty interesting people and make new friends, and you also have the opportunity to travel places you would have never been before.
Q. What college do you hope to attend/intended major?
A. Latsko: I hope to attend either Ohio State University or Kent State University and major in Nursing, and eventually become a Pediatrician.
Shaffer: I plan to attend Purdue and major in Computer Science.
