Martial arts students collecting food, toys
Master Park Martial Arts, 224 Boardman-Canfield Road, is collecting nonperishable food for Second Harvest Food Bank and toys for Toys for Tots through Saturday.
Food items needed are peanut butter, cereal, canned vegetables, tuna fish, dry pasta, canned soup, macaroni and cheese, etc.
A special event will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Take toys and receive a gift certificate for Master Park Martial Arts; meet U.S. Marines and have a picture opportunity with them; meet Grand Master Park; attend a free martial arts class; register for a local Hi-Ya Æ challenge competition and loud Hi-Ya Æ shouting competition for all ages.
There also will be a martial arts demonstration, self-defense training and bully prevention training.
