Victim identified in Salem shooting

SALEM — Columbiana County Sheriff’s Department has released the identity of the woman found dead Monday after a shooting south of Salem near the Kent State Salem campus.

Melinda Todd, 43, was found dead of a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff's department. A 5-year-old boy was also injured in the shooting which took place at a house on state Route 45. He is being treated for head injuries at Akron Children's Hospital.

The sheriff’s department said there were no suspects.
