Police ID woman's body found in SW Ohio river

Published: Tue, December 4, 2012 @ 1:30 p.m.

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities have identified the woman whose body was found floating in the Great Miami River in Ohio.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office reports the victim found in the river Monday was 57-year-old Shelby Ryczek of Hamilton.

Her body was discovered just south of a low-level dam in Hamilton. The sheriff’s office says people walking on a bike path along the river saw the body shortly before 4 p.m.

The sheriff says his office is still waiting for the coroner’s determination as to the cause of death. But authorities say they have no reason to suspect foul play at this point.

A vehicle believed to have been driven by Ryczek was located in a parking area adjacent to the dam.
