Dog’s neck cut with knife in Warren

WARREN

One block east of the house where five dogs and four kittens were found dead last Wednesday, Kelly Koziel found her dog’s neck had been cut with a knife Tuesday morning.

Koziel said she let the dog outside at 4:30 a.m. and chained it in the back yard at 2307 Hamilton St. SW.

When she returned 15 minutes later, there was blood all over the back yard and splattered against the side of the house and she found the dog in a pool of blood. The dog was alive and calm and inside the house when a Warren police officer arrived.

Koziel’s husband, John Skrtic Jr., reported finding a folding knife covered in blood on the trash can. The knife was taken into evidence.

The officer advised Koziel and her husband to take the dog to a veterinarian as soon as possible, but the couple was still trying to find a vehicle or a ride when the officer left.

The officer just took the knife and left while the dog was bleeding and the owners were trying to find a ride. SERIOUSLY COP?
