YOUNGSTOWN — A man accused of murder and another accused of kidnapping in two separate cases were arraigned today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Janero S. Mitchell, of Norwood Avenue, pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated murder in the shooting death of 57-year-old Mark S. Haskins, also of Norwood Avenue.
Haskins died from wounds he received Oct. 21 while in front of a house on the southwest corner of Bissell and Kensington avenues on the city’s North Side. Mitchell’s case was assigned to Judge James Evans, who will set bond.
Mitchell was previously convicted of the 2005 shooting death of Anthony McBride, 39.
Also in court Tuesday was Robert Partridge, 35, who lists addresses in Canton, Warren and Austintown. He is charged with the kidnapping and abduction of his 3-year-old son.
Partridge pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $250,000. His case is assigned to Judge Maureen Sweeney.
Partridge was indicted Thursday and turned himself in Sunday to the county sheriff’s office.
Police said Partridge disappeared with the child after he was supposed to give his son to the child’s mother last month.
