Cruze sales up 29 percent in November

LORDSTOWN — Sales of the Cruze were up 27 percent in November, continuing a string of four consecutive strong months for the Lordstown-built vehicle.

There were 16,807 Cruzes sold in November. Early in 201,2 sales of the Cruze were well behind the 2011 pace, but bounced back in August and September, which were two the strongest sales months in the vehicle's history.

“November was a strong month for new car sales and the impact from hurricane Sandy helped to boost auto sales to its highest since February 2008,” said Jesse Toprak, senior analyst for TrueCar.com, an automotive information website in a statement.

“Import automakers got the biggest lift due to some increased incentive spending building momentum heading into next year. We don’t expect any major impact on auto sales from the ongoing fiscal cliff discussions.”
