Obama signs Fellows book 'A Walk in the Gardens'

Anita Wesler, horticulture education manager at Fellows Riverside Gardens, said the library got back a signed copy of “A Walk in the Gardens” from President Barack Obama.

Wesler said the library originally sent a book to the first daughters, Malia and Sasha, but never knew if the first family ever saw it. During the campaign, Wesler had a chance encounter with an Obama campaign worker and gave the worker a copy of the book. The president signed the book with “Dream Big Dreams.”

The book is a collection of poems and illustrations by sixth-graders at Chaney Visual and Performing Arts with artist and author Dar Hosta. Copies of the book are on sale for $15 at the Fellows library.
