ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of ABWA will meet Sept. 11 at the Golden Corral, Route 224, Boardman. Members will register at the door for either the regular or senior buffet. The speaker will be Claudia Zacharko, owner of Piccadilly Parlour in Canfield. The ABWA style show planned for Sept. 30 will be discussed. Tri-Gold Chapter of ABWA will meet Sept. 12 at Johnny’s in Boardman. A 5:30 p.m. social time will be followed by dinner at 6. Dinner choices are chicken piccata with baked potato, baked or fried fish with baked potato or chicken parmigiana with spaghetti, and will include salad, rolls, butter, coffee, tea or iced tea. ATHLETIC GROUPS

McDonald Baseball Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the community room at the post office building.

BOOSTERS

Girard Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school cafeteria.

CLASSES

Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1950 will meet at noon Wednesday at Bedford Trails.

Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Landmark Restaurant, 7424 Market St., Boardman. Classmates and guests are invited.

CLUBS

Newcomers Club of Canfield, formerly the Welcome Wagon Club, is having its annual potluck social and membership committee sign-up at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11. The club is open to all women of the Mahoning Valley and provides opportunities for members to welcome newcomers, engage in recreational and social activities and help support the civic, social and charitable life of the community. Youngstown Women’s Connection is sponsoring a seminar, Heart Healthy, from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road. The guest speaker, Sue Simmons, will present “On the treadmill of life, where are you going?” and will give exercise tips. Special music will be provided by Roz Blystone. The cost is $12 per person. SINGLES

D.A.R.E. Singles Group, a social group for divorced, widowed and separated people, meets at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. The following activities are scheduled: Saturday, bowling at Boardman Lanes, 7:30 p.m.; Monday, picnic at Boardman Park Master’s Pavilion, noon to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, boccie in Boardman Park, 6 p.m.; Sept. 7, Putt-Putt at Skate Zone, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, 7 p.m.

SUPPORT GROUPS

American Chronic Pain Association Support Group will meet at noon Wednesday at Cindy’s Health & Vitality Center, 56 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. Fridays at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland; newcomers are welcome at 6:45. For information call 330-856-3822.

Nar-Anon, a worldwide fellowship for those affected by someone else’s addiction, meets at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 5211 Mahoning Ave., Suite 3000, Austintown. The 12-step program offers help by sharing experience, strength and hope. Newcomers are welcome at 6:45.

TOPS 1262, McDonald, meets Wednesdays in the senior citizens room at the post office building. Weigh-in is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; the meeting will follow.

TOPS 1497, Austintown, will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Niles Canfield Road. New members are welcome; the first meeting is free. For information call 330-759-4737.
