Fatal truck accident slows traffic on state Route 11 southbound

AUSTINTOWN

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Canfield Post has released the name of the Youngstown truck driver killed in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 11 this morning.

According to the highway patrol, 55-year-old Roger Watkins of Youngstown was killed when the tractor trailer he was driving veered off State Route 11 at Kirk Road southbound and hit a tree then a bridge embankment.

The accident took place at 4:54 a.m. The right lane on State Route 11 in that area is still closed while crews inspect damage to the bridge hit by the truck.
