Poland church plans annual ‘Goodness Invasion’ food distribution

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

New Life Church of Poland will have its third annual “Goodness Invasion,” a food distribution, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Covelli Centre, at 229 E. Front St.

The distribution is free, and open to residents of Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties in need of food assistance.

Last year, hundreds of people filled the area around the center to get a variety of food and fresh produce.

Those attending are required to bring photo identification and bag/box in which to carry the items. The distribution will include a variety of nonperishable food items and fresh produce based on availability.

For information or questions, contact the church at 330-757-0727 or go to its website at www.newlifepoland.com.

New Life operates a food pantry serving families in need of food assistance. The pantry feeds 300 area families and distributes about 1,100 bags of groceries per month.
