TIFFIN, Ohio (AP) — Police in northern Ohio say a homeless man sleeping in a large trash container was accidentally dumped into a garbage truck during a pickup but managed to climb out of the top of the truck and over the windshield and escaped serious injury.
A garbage truck worker who called Tiffin police Tuesday said the truck picked up a trash container at a store, dumped the load and crushed it, and was driving away when the man appeared on the windshield.
The Advertiser-Tribune reports the man mentioned that he was from Missouri and had needed somewhere to sleep. He disappeared when the worker turned to get a phone.
Officer Joe O’Connor says police later found the man with minor injuries to his nose and collar bone. He declined medical treatment.

Did the driver need medical treatment after a homeless man suddenly appeared on his windshield? I know I'd at least a change of shorts.....
OK - he declined medical treatment ... so instead of someone helping the man with food, shelter and medical needs they leave him be? Wow...
