Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have takeout dinners available from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car. Just drive to the front of the church, and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.
Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $7 and includes stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie.
Canfield Lions will sponsor a dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Cost is $10 per meal, which includes a choice of baked or fried haddock, macaroni and cheese, haluski or pirogi along with one side, coleslaw, roll, dessert and beverage. Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.
Smith Corners United Methodist Church, corner of Kirk Road and Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will sell takeout ham-loaf dinners from 4 p.m. until sold out. Cost is $9 per meal, which includes cheesy potatoes, green beans and coleslaw. Pickup is at the south door.
VFW Triangle Post 2799 will serve homestyle breakfasts from 8 a.m. to noon, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Menu items are eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will serve drive-through chicken dinners from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) Aug. 8. Place orders on the north side of the church, and pick them up on the south side. Dinners cost $6 and comprise stuffed chicken breast with gravy, baked potato with sour cream, green beans and homemade sugar cookies. Advance orders may be placed at 330-637-2571. Dinners must be picked up by 5:30 p.m.
Otterbein United Methodist Church, 1128 State Road, Champion, will sponsor a chicken dinner Aug. 8 from 3:30 to 6 p.m., or until food runs out. The dinner includes scalloped potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert. The cost is $7.50 for white meat and $7 for dark meat. A children’s meal with chicken tenders for ages 4 to 10 costs $4. Children 3 and under get a chicken tender meal for free. Eat in or take out. Call 330-847-7072 to place an order, and it will be ready for pickup.
Second Chance Animal Rescue will have a spaghetti dinner and auction fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 12. at Crickets Bar and Grill, 1733 Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children. Carryout is available.
VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 9. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12; carryouts are $6.25. The menu includes meatballs, salad, Italian bread and coffee or tea.
