CARD, BINGO PARTIES
Shepherd of the Valley-Poland, 301 W. Western Reserve Road, will have card games from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are not required, and card players of all kind are invited to play.
St. Patrick Church, 357 N. Main St., Hubbard, will host a card and bingo social from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the church hall. The event is being sponsored by the church’s Altar & Rosary Society, and the donation is $5. A light lunch will be served, and there will be table and door prizes, a basket auction and a 50-50 raffle.

Celebrity Dancers of Youngstown will present its 6th annual dance from 7 p.m. to midnight May 5 at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., Girard. Harvey S. Firestone Festival of the Arts in Columbiana will return for its 26th year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 with free admission and free parking for the public. Artists, crafters and antique dealers will be located in the park setting, where there also will be a variety of food vendors and an afternoon of free entertainment. The juried show has a limit of 250 spaces. For the application fee of $65, vendors receive a 20-by-20-foot space, free parking and dealers assistance. A cash prize will go to the most attractive booth in each of the three categories. The 2012 Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Committee is sponsoring a bus trip to Wheeling Downs Racetrack and Casino on May 19. All proceeds from the trip will go to the American Cancer Society. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from Fab Limo on Connecticut Avenue in Austintown, and will depart from Wheeling Downs at 5 p.m. The cost is $30 per person, and each player will receive $25 in free pay.
