Published: Tue, April 17, 2012 @ 10:21 a.m.

FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Police in the southwest Ohio city of Fairfield are trying to determine what happened to a 15-year-old girl found dead about nine hours after she was reported missing.

Police have called the death of Chelsea Johnson a homicide, but they haven’t released any details on the cause. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that an autopsy was planned today.

She was found behind an apartment building Monday evening, about two miles from her home.

Police say her mother said the girl left home Sunday afternoon. She reported Johnson missing Monday morning.
