Ohio gas prices up a bit since last week

COLUMBUS

The price of gasoline in Ohio has risen slightly after two weeks of decreases.

The average price for regular gas is about $3.79 a gallon in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express.

That’s a bit above the average of $3.77 a week ago. But this week’s average is a few pennies less than what drivers were paying a year ago, when the price was about $3.82.

In the Mahoning Valley, the average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas was $3.74, down from $3.84 a week ago.

Crude-oil prices have increased since fall in part because of concern that a military strike by Israel and the U.S. against Iran’s nuclear facilities would disrupt global crude supplies. But crude prices dropped recently amid indications that global crude supplies are outstripping demand.

Nationally, the average price of regular gas is around $3.91.
