Counterfeiters suspected at Boardman Walmart too

Published: Wed, April 11, 2012 @ 1:54 a.m.

BOARDMAN

The Boardman Walmart store’s loss prevention manager told police she believes the same two people who used counterfeit currency at two other Valley Walmarts also used it at her store.

The manager gave the report to police Monday and said on March 30, two people used about $1,400 in fake $100 bills, reports state. That was the same day police in Austintown and Bazetta received reports of about $2,000 in fake currency used at each store in those areas, police said.

The Boardman manager said receipts from Walmart’s internal system showed the items purchased at the Boardman store were returned at a Walmart outside of the Mahoning Valley, according to reports.

Pretty soon they will outlaw 100 dollar bills. I can't buy gas with a $100 bill at my local gas station. Of course, I've never tried it because I never carry hundred dollar bills, but that is what the sign at the gas station reads.

Apparently, these felons used a fake address when they returned their purchased items at the other store. You will soon see Walmart asking for photo ID cards when making returns.

I wonder what Walmart's security camera's show at these stores. It would be interesting to see them loading and unloading the items from their cars in the parking lots.

Walmart doesn't like people who steal the made overseas junk they provide and profit greatly from.

Every time I use a twenty dollar bill someone uses one of those pens on it to see if it's real. Apparently if you throw hundreds around you get a pass on the pen.

Of course all it would take is one insider in each store to make the theft a little easier! Not making accusations but it is something to be looked into. Wouldn't be the first time!

Now if they are taking say a $10 bill and doing a little cut-n-paste it would pass the pen test but cashiers need to learn who's picture is on each bill and that the picture and the hologram match.

The thing is that if you can rush or distract the cashier it helps.

Gotta go back to the insider possibility!

Apparently Walmart wouldn't hire doowop as a greeter!
