A body found Saturday on the bank of the Mahoning River in Struthers is that of Jonathan Rosas, 28, of Puerto Rico.
Mahoning County Deputy Coroner Joseph Ohr made the identification Monday after an autopsy.
Two fishermen found Rosas on the south bank of the river near Bob Cene Way about 6 p.m. Saturday, Struthers police reported.
Dr. Ohr said the cause and manner of Rosas’ death is still under investigation. He said there was no sign of obvious trauma on the remains, which were badly decomposed and lying face-down under a fallen tree.
A friend of Rosas’ reported him missing to Youngstown police Dec. 21.
The friend last saw him around 5:30 p.m. Dec. 20. Rosas had borrowed the friend’s van, which was found parked on Himrod Avenue.
Rosas’ friend told police Rosas had come from Puerto Rico for a week’s visit. Police said he also had a Youngstown address on Truesdale Avenue.

Something happened. He did not get in the river by his self. Someone put him there, he was killed and some one disposed of his body..

He may well have put himself there.

I just hope this is resolved soon. He was a close friend of mine. And I still feel the loss. I am very hurt, and my friend could not have come there alone. Not could it have been suicide, because I know him well, lots of things happened to him since childhood and was always fighting, and he never gived up. I would like to know when they finish the investigation, which is what really happened. Jonathan I will always love you. You will always be in my heart.
