MANSFIELD, Ohio
Authorities have arrested a man suspected of briefly dragging a law enforcement officer along a road while driving away during a traffic stop in northern Ohio.
The News Journal reports the 37-year-old suspect was arrested Saturday at a Mansfield home. He remained in jail Sunday on a felony charge of assaulting a peace officer.
Richland County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Viars had stopped the man Friday. Viars said he tried to reach inside the vehicle to turn it off when the driver became impatient and started to drive away. Viars said he lost his footing and was dragged a few feet, leaving him scraped but not seriously hurt.
Police said the suspect later crashed and fled on foot.
Jail records did not have information on an attorney for the suspect.

Apparently the suspect doesn't have a name.
oohhhh he's in trouble!
kind of like your good buddy
Hmmm reminds me of a little punk at that bar last year... Cory I think his name was. Same situation and I remember how his little buddies sticking up for the idiot and bad mouthing the cop (Chase?) like it was his fault. Mansfield Police charge this loser with a felony charge of assaulting a peace officer and Cory got a slap on the wrist. Amazing.
I read about policemen reaching into a driver's window to get at the keys. Not the smartest thing to do. The driver could cut the poliman's hand or arm. Or spit on him would be bad enough.
The policeman should put his gun barrel on the driver's temple if he does not comply
Any officer sticking his hand and arm inside a car isn't the brightest officer this side of Barney Fife.
