Four injured in N. Side shooting after fight over stereo equipment

Published: Sat, April 7, 2012 @ 4:33 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Four Youngstown residents were shot on the city’s North Side early today after a fight at a party over stereo equipment, police said.

The party was on Hanley Avenue, hosted by Devlin Simpson, 18, of Sampson Drive, at the home of his grandfather, police said.

After the fight, Simpson and others confronted those involved in the altercation two blocks away on Logan Avenue, near Tacoma Avenue, about 1 a.m. today, police said.

During the confrontation, shots were fired.

Those shot are: Simpson; Emmanuel Simpson, 24, of Lexington Avenue; Sha-aute Pettway, 22, of Katherine Avenue; and Brandon Smith, 22, of Rogers Road. Police said the victims are in stable condition and are expected to recover.

Police declined to provide information about the search for the shooter or shooters. Witnesses to the shooting were interviewed by the police.

I find it amazing Lifes2Shorts comment is still posted. The Vindy censors usually delete anything that might tell the truth with a little "urban" twist. You're right on. No snitchin' is allowed. This will soon come back around to haunt them when it's them shot or dead or a family member. Same old Ytown gangsta lifestyle. Partying at Grandpa's house on Sampson (houses once worth a bundle) and then a stupid argument over stereo equipment (Most likely stolen) during the afternoon becomes the 1am gunfight. 3 entire generations of uselessness.

Obviously, Blacks are racist toward their Brothers and Sisters. In Boston, gangs have rented billboards that instruct people NOT to co-operate with the Po-lice.

This is defiately not the end. There will be more shootings surrounding this stupid argument. These types of individuals have no regard for human life. Also, they could care less about the law.

There is no need for concern as shotspotter technology has things under control. Who would dare fire a gun in the city now?
