YSU's PG Fickiesen leaving program

Published: Thu, April 5, 2012 @ 4:47 p.m.

Youngstown State point guard Kelsea Fickiesen has decided to leave the program.

Fickiesen played in all 30 games, starting 15, and averaged 6.8 points per game this season. Her role grew as the season wore on and she was expected to be a full-time starter next season.

Although her decision was unexpected, the West Virginia native said it was due to her desire to return home and enter pharmacy school and not because of unhappiness with the program.

Poor Boldon. Yet another reason not to coach girls. What she didn't say is she's in love and can't be without her BF. Seems at least one top recruit goes home every year from women's program. Need to recruit nothing but ........

That is a TOUGH loss. That girl could play. She was TERRIFIC on defense. Wish she would have thought twice about this decision. She could have been a star in this league!
