A jury found Kevin Agee guilty today of murder, attempted murder and two felonious assaults in the shooting death of Thomas Repchic, 74, and the wounding of his wife, Jacqueline, on the city’s South Side in 2010.
The seven-man, five-woman jury returned the verdict in the courtroom of Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court late this morning.
The jury, however, did not find Agee guilty of aggravated murder with death specifications, meaning he was spared the death penalty.
Instead, Agee could face a sentence of 28 years to life.

The message here is loud and clear. Gunning down an old white couple, blowing the leg off one and killing the other, in Youngstown isn't grounds for the death penalty.
The death penalty is reserved for vile acts of killing.

Judge Sweeney had nothing to do with that decision. It came from the jury. Get a clue. If you are ignorant about something and dont have a clue, you should probably not say anything. unreal
He was only DRIVING...NOT THE SHOOTER!!!!! So is 28 years to life enough. He DIDNT LEAVE TOWN, SURRENDERED PEACEFULLY, AND IS REMORSEFUL OF THE DEED...While punishment is warranted it should be for the crime committed by the individual. Once again the DRIVER NOT THE SHOOTER!!!! God Bless the FAMILIES affected by this tragic circumstance!! (also his background has no prior violent acts, he himself was shot in a drive-by shooting when he ran out to protect a child in the line of gunfire...but all you see is what the media tells you)

Joe. Look who has no clue. Everyone in her court gets off with a lighter sentence. Do you ever read the paper or watch the news???? Now who's ignorant????? The judge reads the charge to the jury. She says what they can find him guilty of and instructs the jury about the law. In this case, he was GUILTY as sin for this murder. Now he gets to spend the rest if his life with us tax payers paying for him and Mr. Repchic paid with his life for driving a car. If you can't understand reality, maybe you shouldn't post anything.
This is why there is no deterent to crime these cockroaches bank on the people not wanting to create a stir by sentencing this poor person to death,which he deserves.Not to mention Jesse Jackson and Sharpton showing up.Funny they did'nt show up for the REAL victims in this crime. As long as the people are weak and won't give these morons the death sentence crime will remain the same. He'll be out in 10-yrs or less probably, and will be doin time with people no doubt he knows.
