Average gas price in Valley falls 1 cent
Mahoning Valley gas prices have fallen 1 cent compared with last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas is $3.86, down one penny from $3.87 last week.
Drivers could find gas for as little as $3.75 per gallon Monday. That average is still 26 cents higher than it was one year ago.
Throughout Ohio, the average price is $3.83.
Nationwide, the average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas is $3.93, up 3 cents from last week and up 28 cents compared with a year ago.
Petition for boycott
A local woman hopes a gas-station boycott will help drive down gas prices.
Patti Gorcheff of North Lima has organized an online petition for drivers worldwide to not buy gasoline April 15.
Gas prices have hovered near $4 a gallon, and some analysts say the price of the average gallon of gas could be $5 by summer.
