American Cancer Society Relay for Life-Team Rachel is selling raffle tickets for four one-day Disney World Park Hopper tickets valid through April 1, 2014. This is a $480 value that admits you to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Raffle tickets cost $10 each and the drawing will be May 19. Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St., Warren, will have a rummage, treasure and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 13 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14. Admission is free except for the April 13 “early birds” who want to pay a 9 a.m. $5 admission fee. The sale will include furniture, tools, books, clothing, kitchen items and more. There will be a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13, a $3-a-bag sale at noon April 14 and lunch available from 10 to 2 both days. Proceeds will support parish projects and Relay for Life.
Girard Junior Women will sponsor a trunk sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 in the Girard City Parking lot. The cost to sell from a car trunk or to set up a table is $10.
Menagerie Thrift and Gift Shoppe, 6037 E. Market St., Warren, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. The store sells clothing, furniture, books, antiques, collectibles and Christmas items year-round. All purchases benefit Animal Welfare of Trumbull County, a nonprofit organization. Ursuline Center, 4300 Shields Road, Canfield, will host a Car Trunk & Treasure Sale at 9 a.m. July 14. There also will be food and beverages, a book sale, baked goods and furniture inside the center. The cost for side-by-side spaces in the parking lot is $25; after June 30 the fee will increase to $30. All spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Wickliffe Block Watch will have a trunk sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30 at Wickliffe Christian Church, 3939 Potomac Ave., Austintown, in conjunction with its annual block party. Spaces are available for $10. The party is open to all Austintown residents and will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be cash prizes awarded to the top eaters in a hot-dog eating contest with three age groups: 8 to 12; 13 to 17; and 18 and up. There also will be music, games, face painting, a basket auction, door prizes, antique cars and demonstrations by area safety forces. The Block Watch will provide free food, and the Austintown Police Dept. will provide beverages. Mineral Ridge Alumni Association Banquet Committee is sponsoring a bus trip to The Meadows Casino on April 20. The cost is $30 with bonuses of $15 in slot play and $5 in food. The bus will load at 9 a.m. and leave at 9:30 from First Presbyterian Church, 3654 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge. Trumbull County Travel Club will sponsor a Wine and Dine bus excursion April 21. The bus will depart from the Niles Kmart at 9:45 a.m. Activities will include lunch and a wine taste at Luva Bella Winery in Lowellville; cheese and crackers and a wine sampling at Mastropietro Winery in Berlin Center; shopping and a wine taste at Maize Winery in Hartville; and dessert wines and chocolate at Viking Winery in Kent. Dinner (included) will be at Akron’s Spaghetti House with a glass of wine for all.
