Safety forces Mass set Saturday in Youngstown

Published: Fri, October 28, 2011 @ 10:56 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — St. Patrick’s Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will have a Blue Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday for safety forces. Celebrants will be the Rev. Ed Noga, church pastor, and the Rev. Edward J. Neroda of St. Stanislaus.

A police and firefighter honor guard will be present.

Catholic popes have long taught that collective bargaining is a fundamental human right.

In February, before Senate Bill 5 became Issue 2, the Catholic Bishops of Ohio, including Bishop George Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown, issued a statement in support of collective bargaining.

The Catholic Bishops of Ohio have taken a neutral stance on Issue 2.

"Catholic popes have long taught that collective bargaining is a fundamental human right."

I wonder if a child's right to be free from molestation by Priest's has been viewed as a fundamental human right?
