Responding to media reports on Saturday night that Kelly Pavlik dropped him as a trainer, Jack Loew said Pavlik assured him, "You're still my trainer."
ESPN.com reported that Pavlik would leave Loew in favor of Robert Garcia and will train in Oxnard, Calif.
"Kelly told me, 'That's an absolute lie. It's not happening,'" Loew told The Vindicator on Sunday evening.
Pavlik and his father, co-manager Mike Pavlik, met with co-manager Cameron Dunkin and Top Rank officials in New York on Saturday night.
Dunkin told ESPN that it was about "getting him out of Ohio," where Pavlik has battled distractions and issues with drinking.
Garcia also trains Dunkin clients Donaire, Brandon Rios and Mikey Garcia (Robert's younger brother), as well as Antonio Margarito.

Good for him. Getting away from all the distractions. Better trainer, Very good move.
So there will be no distractions and drinking will not be a problem in California...right!!!
He is too big to try to fight at the weight class he is fighting in. Not sure he can move up. Hate to say it but I think his best days are behind him.
That having been said, he obviously had to eat some humble pie if Top Rank even agreed to talk to him after the crap he pulled.
Good riddance to this irrelevant piece of sh*t! The valley will be better off without this coked up drunk fighting in bars and pretending he is better then everybody else. His family can go with him.
Too bad he didn't heed Boom-Boom's advice.
Doesn't matter who trains this guy he is now a total loser. Ytown is full of good hardworking people. He has embarrased our area. He doesn't deserve a second of our time or hardearned money. The boxing world should just write him off too. He could move anywhere and he'd still be a loser.
