UPDATED: Obama to pull all troops out of Iraq
TweetWASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama on Friday declared an end to the Iraq war, one of the longest and most divisive conflicts in U.S. history, announcing that all U.S. troops would be withdrawn from the country by year's end.
Obama's statement put an end to months of wrangling over whether the U.S. would maintain a force in Iraq beyond 2011.
"After nearly nine years," the president, "America's war in Iraq will be over."
He spoke at the White House after a private video conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and he offered assurances that the two leaders agreed on the decision.
The American withdrawal by the end of 2011 was sealed in a deal between the two countries when George W. Bush was president. Obama declared the end of the combat mission earlier this year.

Repubs support the wars when we went there under Bush. While Obama is pres, you keep saying we need to end these wars and save money and troops. Now Obama is doing just as he promised, bring troops home, and you say its a bad thing, or only a political move.

It's great to know too, that al Sadr has returned to Iraq from Iran. Once again if the politicians would have stayed out of the way, and turned the military loose, Iraq would have been a victory 8 years ago with very few lives lost.

The powers-that-be, the international banksters who own the USA and are in control of everything, including our politicians, have had Iran in their sights for a long time.
Obama announced last week that Iran was going to pay a price for a supposed assassination plot/attempt of a Saudi official at their embassy in New York. This "plot" that was found out was and is a total fabrication, a lie, in order to get us into war with Iran. And this announcement conveniently took the heat off of Eric Holder.
The neocon-Repubicans and the Democrats are all in this together... Don't be fooled.
