YOUNGSTOWN — A statue that was discovered missing from Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park a week ago has been returned, and a man suspected of stealing it was being questioned today by police.
The Kneeling Girl Fountain, which was stolen from the Beeghly Family Garden, was recovered by a scrap dealer who recognized it, bought it, and told police who sold it to him, The Vindicator’s media partner, 21 WFMJ-TV reported.
The bronze statue had been in the garden since 2001.
