A man died Saturday night after a fire consumed a home on the city's South Side.
Youngstown Fire Chief John J. O'Neill Jr. said the man, whose identity was not immediately known, was found on the first floor. He said the fire appeared to have started near the kitchen.
Firefighters responded to a call shortly after 10 p.m. at 29 Williamson Ave., just a block east of Market Street.
O'Neill described the house as containing "a lot of debris," which could have attributed the fire's stubbornness.
It took about one hour for firefighters to put out the blaze.

Southside Hoodrat killing and fire coverup? We shall see what we shall see.
Isn't this the second one in two weeks? Blame the house on Willamson Ave for doing it.
More new safe public housing needs to be built . Sprinkler systems can and do save lives . Old housing is just a tinderbox waiting for a match to be struck and they have no safety systems .
STAN good to hear on this one you may have a little compassion unlike the two idiots before you.
@ Southside and Author , a mother lost her youngest son as she lay in the bed upstairs. God willing, it won't have to either of you.
