The Associated Press has joined other pundits across the state of Ohio to call the Issue 2 race: Senate Bill 5 has been repealed. Gov. John Kasich is expected to comment within the hour.
What will Bertram do now? Who will he hate? The voters of the state rejected this crap law, and now he may have to face the fact that most rational people do not hate professors, cops, and others who make a living helping others.
You know....I saw 2 of 3 pro Issue 2 commercials (I live in Sharon, PA but still). I have to say...that this bill was rushed through...with zero output from the public and the unions. As I remember it, there was one lone Republican who was against he bill, but was taken off of that committee with a person for it.
I wonder where all those sb5ers are?? sb5 supporters are no where to be found. Commoncitizen, redvert, jessie, OH the must be out buying more tea or koolaid.
Oh, and the same voters defeated most of the local tax and school levies. So my question would be, where's the money going to come from???? You want the teachers, firefighters, police, etc. to continue to have whatever they want? Who's going to pay for it? The voters must think there's some MAGIC button to push, giant ATM in the sky, Obama sugar daddy coming to their rescue. The money has to come from somewhere!!!!!!!!!
Well I'm glad Issue 2 was voted down, but I am saddened that Issue 3 was not. I can only hope that the courts will keep the new healthcare reform bill alive.
valleymom-- the only levy i saw that was getting voted down was canfield schools...many, many other local levies passed overwhelmingly...I guess you and jessie and stan and yak and unionforever, and red, etc, etc will just have to face the fact that most people who live and work in this area actually do care about their communities and their quality of life...But don't worry, I'm sure you guys will find some other way to spread fear and division among your neighbors...In fact, based on your post, you and jessie have already begun with your new fear campaign...good luck with that.
This guarantees opulence for government workers and raises the misery index for others . Now to attemp to recoup by raising the costs of goods and services to those wealthy ones in the government sector . Now to the issue of taxes . TheValley has never seen a tax that they didn't like . Let the good times roll . . ..

Interesting article about California's government and culture. I fear this is where many state and local governments are headed.
