COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Attorneys are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to stop the Ohio execution of a man convicted in the 1984 shooting deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.
Sixty-three-year-old Daniel Lee Bedford is scheduled to be put to death this morning. A last-minute stay of execution was lifted late Monday by a federal appeals court in Cincinnati.
Defense lawyer Al Gerhardstein says Bedford’s team late Monday asked the Supreme Court to review the case. The nation’s highest court confirmed the stay had been filed but made no immediate decision.
Lawyers have argued that Bedford has dementia and a mild mental disability that keep him from fully understanding the meaning and purpose of his death sentence.

What I want to know is , why is Danny Hill still alive ?
Someone should have told him in 1984 it was not right to kill anyone... but let his attorney and all the do gooders know that he will be informed at the Pearly Gates what he did was wrong..before they send him to
H-e-l-l.....
have a good trip
Boy wait a little longer he can die of old age . 1984 hard to belive .
And you right what about Danny Hill
an eye ror an eye is'nt that what they say. so why in ohio it takes 27 years. the lawyers are they using the system to clog up the courts to make more money. i can not see them doing this for free. where is my thinking wrong
Danny Lee Hill is a mentally challenged SNB therefore he is not eligable to be dispatched to the netherworld. He will remain alive to use his parasitic abilities to suck the lifeblood out of do gooders, liberals and taxpayers.
