The two-day economic summit called Teaming4Success that started here Monday began with a note of success.
Tube-Cut North America, a Pennsylvania company, announced it will open a steel-tube-cutting facility at 1472 Salem Parkway. It expects to hire 10 workers and be cutting tubing by the end of May. It hopes to make tubing here later.
Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor was Monday’s keynote speaker and spoke on Gov. John Kasich’s Common Sense Initiative. She and Kasich are tying to cut the red tape businesses in Ohio have to deal with.
She gave an example of the kind of regulation they hope to end: An Ohio restaurant that used wine in its recipes couldn’t buy wine in bulk; because of state law, it had to buy one bottle at a time.
The summit continues today at the Salem Community Center and will focus on entrepreneurship.
