Y-103 DJ pleads guilty in porn case

Pittsburgh

A longtime Y-103 morning show host faces up to a decade in prison after pleading guilty in federal court to possession of child pornography.

William “Scott” Kennedy, 55, of Lexington Drive in Hermitage, Pa., pleaded Tuesday to one count of the pornography charge, which brings with it the possibility of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 25.

Authorities caught Kennedy with the illegal materials in December 2009, the news release said. The U.S. Attorney’s office in Pittsburgh confirmed that federal investigators first became aware of Kennedy in an internet chat room, and that led to the 2009 search of his home, when his computer was seized and the illegal files were discovered.

The files included three videos and 238 images, including some of pre-teens or children younger than 12. Federal court documents state that some showed minors having sex.

Speaking to 21 WFMJ TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, Kennedy’s lawyer, James Ross, said, “ There’s nothing I can say. Mr. Kennedy has been a good and productive member of this community, and it’s unfortunate that this has happened.”

A station manager for Cumulus Broadcasting in Youngstown said Kennedy resigned Monday, but wouldn’t comment further on the case.

Kennedy was taken into custody by U.S. marshals immediately after his hearing.

Absolutely sickening. Just as disgusting as all of the Catholic priests molesting little boys, but the church has so much money, they wipe it under the table and pay off the victims and scold the priests and move them elsewhere to do it again.
Scott is gonna have himself a rough time in Prison. A former inmate told me that they HATE Rapists and anyone who messes with kids.
What a sad story from a local celebrity.

Don't forget about that creep who used to be over at Zion Lutheran Church in Youngstown. He put on the mask of a Lutheran Pastor for 30 plus years, but was secretly having sex with underage girls in his office and down in the church basement. He got no jail time and just a slight smack on the wrist. He got away with rape of a minor while this guy gets jail time for just looking at pictures of minor children. What an interesting and confusing justice system that we have in this country.....

@GoNEO - "What will Lynn and Mr. Sports say?"

What a bizarre comment. Why would you link two innocent co-workers names to this pervert?
