Columbiana County recycling collection to be May 14

SALEM

The Carroll-Columbiana-Harrison Solid Waste District will have its annual appliance, scrap metal and electronics recycling collection in Columbiana County from 9 a.m. to noon May 14 at Solomon’s Scrap and Salvage, 7299 Salem-Unity Road.

Residents can bring refrigerators, freezers, scrap metal, computers, TVs, VCRs, microwaves, fax machines and most other electronic items.

There is no cost for appliances, scrap metal or most electronics. A $5, cash-only charge is collected for each television or computer monitor.

The collection will not take equipment or containers containing hazardous materials, sealed containers, gas tanks, propane tanks, or paint cans.
