The Plain Dealer of Cleveland is reporting that General Motors Corp. is recalling all 154,122 Chevrolet Cruzes it has made in Lordstown, saying mistakes on the assembly line could cause safety problems.
GM on Wednesday recalled the Cruze for a transmission problem that allows it to slip out of gear during driving or while parked, and it expanded a smaller recall over steering problem, the newspaper is reporting tonight.
GM said all Cruze owners should immediately call their dealers to schedule an inspection of their cars. Dealers will make sure that the steering and transmission connections are correct, possibly tightening a few bolts on some cars.
"We think very few vehicles in the population have either issue," GM Vice President of Global Quality Terry Woychowski said in a written statement.

Maybe if GM stops trying to overload a job mistakes like this wouldnt happen.
Sorry to here about the failure to details. No GM product 1) whilst they pay ($3.1 million) lobbying monies 2) have not paid back the US taxpayers.3) offer special incentives to only GM employees whilst the taxpayers own their company 4) have not taken care of Delphi retirees (Fair and Equal that one is for you). BTW - this was a common reaction at the Cleveland auto show.
Government Motors junkers already!
My ex works there and from what I hear about the assembly line I would never buy a car built in Lordstown. Just saying...
WOW I see the haters are out in full force . . They did not try to hide it like the foreign companies do . But that seems to go over your heads . Plus it was a human error on a few cars not a design mistake on all their cars like the foreign ones are . But that will mean nothing to the haters. So you have made your nasty little comments now go back under your rocks .
Who is hating? Its great we have the GM plant. But if you heard the things I did about the workers on the line then you might change your mind a little. Lordstown, I'm all for it, but I'll keep my Toyota.
Just wait for the comment from Jim Graham. Union thug and bully. What a tool.
