COLUMBUS (AP) — State records obtained by The Associated Press show Gov. John Kasich withdrew paperwork nominating an EPA director from out of state and resubmitted it after the man registered as an Ohio voter.
The move involving Ohio Environmental Protection Agency appointee Mark J. Nally came three days after Kasich reassigned another out-of-state cabinet director amid questions his residency made the appointment illegal.
Then-Development Director Mark Kvamme lives in California. Kasich re-named him job-creation director, which is not a cabinet position.
Legislative legal experts advised Senate Democrats that governors’ cabinet appointees were required to be Ohio residents and voters. The liberal policy group ProgressOhio.org sued.
Kasich said he was confident the administration could have won the lawsuit but wanted to avoid the distraction.
Nally’s situation is different. He moved to Ohio to take the EPA job.

One would think the governor would be able to find someone in OHIO to fill job vacancies! Excuse me, but why do we have to find people from California to do jobs in Ohio government?
An old crony, perhaps?
Thoughts he was going to create jobs for Ohioans!
Ever think that maybe he wants to bring in new blood with new ideas. Not the same old same old. After all, the people in Ohio's Gov't usually don't think outside the box on anything.
Yeah, I'll believe job creation from this dude when I see it. Till then, he's just funneling our tax money into the pockets of his rich out of state friends who he owes favors to.
Tigerlily,What favor does he owe? Is your assertion a fact or just something you democrats throw out there till fiction becomes fact? Come on,give us some proof or admit you're just a little ol s**t stirrer.
AverageCitizen,I'm as sure she's a Dem,as I'm as sure you're annoying. In fact I'm positive. I'm also assuming she's a she.
Fools.....KASICK is all about making as much money for his buddies until he is voted out of office in four LONG years. Charter schools are easy ways to steal public money for KASICK charter school operators. Why isn't he going after the South Side Academy for its 4 or 5 million tax dollars owed to the state? Oooooh yea! He couldn't go after one of his friends that made $56000000 last year off the back of Ohio taxpapers
